Blue Ribbon Sports’ 60th
This project was inspired by the heritage of Nike, Blue Ribbon Sports, and the partnership between Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. The inside of the 19’x7’x7’ shipping container was filled with nods to the original shoes, the source of the name, and Nike's legendary athletes (like Pre) and culture (cue the first-ever Just Do It ad).
I also partnered with Runologie and Trophy Brewing to design the packaging "Phil and Bill's Blue Ribbon Haze" -- a hazy IPA, perfect for that post-run beer.

What's more appropriate than an unsanctioned race to celebrate Nike's origins? I created a logo to accompany the speed and movement of the Mordecai Mile, with illustrations of the shoes that started it all to pay homage to BRS' roots.
The Mural
A 19'x7' wall was painted top to bottom with homages to the beginnings of Nike, most notably the shoes seen in the logo and the goddess of victory herself, Nike.
The Photo Op
After painting the BRS logo on a corrugated 7'x7' wall, I hung cloud swooshes made of cotton, then staged the area with a directors chair, a vintage television-turned-display-case, and various items relating to Nike’s origins.
The Heritage
Photos of the legendary figures that helped to build the brand were pasted on the Heritage wall, an homage to Pre, the two Jeffs (Jeff Johnson and Jeff Hollister), Bill Bowerman, Phil Knight, and more. Also collaged in were the iconic advertisements that helped build the brands success, from vintage Air Jordan ads to the first “Just Do It” advertisement on the golden gate bridge.

Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman’s partnership is what created Blue Ribbon Sports, later becoming the brand we know and love: Nike.
In partnership with Runologie and Trophy Brewing, we created this limited-edition beer, Phil and Bill’s Blue Ribbon Haze, for Runologie’s BRS celebration.
